moneyI AM NOT going to shy away from the fact that the best team went through in Tuesday evening's FA Cup replay against Macclesfield Town.

Like many others, I can't believe that they only have six points to their name so far this season as they have proven to be tough, well-organised opposition in each of our three games against them so far.

Of course, I am not happy that we have gone out of the competition, but, as we all know, these things happen in the FA Cup.

We've got to understand that as our home record is so good, teams are going to come here intent on making life as difficult as possible for us. They will get a lot of bodies behind the ball and it is not easy to win football matches in these kind of circumstances.

That said, we have the ability within our playing staff to overcome this and need everyone to stay patient and stay with us. The crowd were very good on Tuesday evening and we are going to need this type of backing as our next two home games are extremely tough as we go head-to-head with both Notts County and Swindon Town.

We've set our own standards and expectations this season and have to live with that. There is a mentality amongst everyone at the club whereby we don't like losing matches, or even conceding goals, and I would like to think that we will bounce back in the best possible way on Saturday with three points to further strengthen our position at the top of the League Two table.

I want a big atmosphere inside the ground; we owe our supporters a performance and I am confident that we will provide one for them. Notts County will make life tough as they go into the game amongst the leading pack with just one defeat in nine League games on the road, but I have every faith in my players to get back into winning ways.
