Richard Money - v Macclesfield Town (FA Cup first round replay), 21/11/2006

WE FOUND Paul Ince's side hard to break down in the original tie at Moss Rose eight days ago. Up to the final third I thought that our play was very good, but the final ball wasn't of the quality that I have come to expect.
It was the kind of game that you have to expect at this stage of the FA Cup; Paul Ince has got his side well-organised and on both occasions that we have faced them this season, they have worked extremely hard.
It was a competitive game and I am expecting more of the same tonight as we look to make progress into the second round where a home tie awaits.
Saturday's game at Hereford United saw us put in what I consider to be one of our best away performances of the season so far.
We were strong, resilient and could have won by a bigger margin in the end. That said, it was a big three points for us against a side who went into the game in good form. Edgar Street is never an easy place to visit but we went there and did a very professional job.
I couldn't have asked any more from my players and our supporters were absolutely brilliant as well. They turned up in large numbers and played an important part in what was a very impressive victory that strengthened our position at the top of the table.
There is always a special atmosphere surrounding the FA Cup and this evening will be no different. We will need your full backing and support if we are to overcome this hurdle and make it into the next round.
You played your part at Hereford over the weekend, so let's have more of the same this evening.....
RICHARD MONEY
