Richard Money - v Grimsby Town, 9/9/2006
SATURDAY'S game is going to be another tough one for us. Like last weekend at Barnet, it is a difficult place to go and there is a fair chance that it will be windy again.
Grimsby haven't lost at home this season, so we will have to go there and battle hard in the opening exchanges to earn the right to play. We haven't got a divine right to control games away from home; we must make sure that we can withstand the first 20 minutes of pressure and then gain control of the proceedings.
I have been pleased with the fighting spirit displayed so far and the way in which I have been able to change the shape of the team. We have around 16 players who I can put on the pitch without weakening us and that is a good position to be in.
We have a tough period of fixtures coming up this month and as it is unlikely that the same 11 will start every game, we need everyone fit and ready for action. I am happy with the competition that exists within the squad and this will be further enhanced by the return of Allan Picken, Alex Nicholls and Darren Wrack in the not too distant future.
If we are going to be successful this year it will have to be built around solid foundations. Clean sheets win football matches and if we can keep things tight at the back, it will give us a good base on which to build.
I would like to thank those supporters who made the trip to Barnet and helped us come home with a point in what were difficult conditions at Underhill. Your support is going to be much needed this weekend and intend over the busy month that lies ahead.
RICHARD MONEY
