I THOUGHT that we played with real quality in the first half to bring home maximum points from Cheltenham on Saturday.

It was an important game for both clubs and it's fair to say that we had to put our tins hats on and defend in the closing stages as the home side came at us.

You have to be able to deal with that, though, and had we been able to find the right pass earlier in the second half we might have gone on to win by a more convincing margin. T

hat said, it was a pleasing victory and keeps us in touch with the play-off places as we enter the final four games, three of which are at home.

There was a real togetherness between the players and supporters during our last home game against Tranmere Rovers; the backing that we received was the best it's been here during my two years. You gave us what we asked for and contributed to our victory.

We will face a stern test this evening against a Bristol Rovers side who came up with us last season. They have a solid away record this term and also reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, so it's been a season of progress for them.

Once more this evening we will require both players and supporters alike working together and pulling in the same direction. You have proved what you are capable of and we need more of the same tonight and indeed on Saturday when we play host to AFC Bournemouth in another game of great importance for both clubs involved.
