WE GET the New Year underway against an in-form Doncaster Rovers side, who go into the game in fourth place in the table.

They are a talented outfit and I fully expect them to finish in the top six this season and be amongst the promotion challengers. In Sean O'Driscoll they have a very experienced manager who knows what this level is all about.

My players have been working extremely hard throughout the festive period and we look forward to getting back into home action in front of what we hope will be a large and vocal crowd.

Saturday's game at Oldham was played in tough conditions, but we had enough quality to overcome it and put in an impressive away performance.

We defended well when we had to and scored two very good goals to keep our run going and pick up three more points, which was the most important thing.

We've got good energy in the team right now and we're moving the ball around well and with fluidity.

The main thing for me is that we are sticking to our beliefs and it is bearing fruit. I would like to think that this will continue during the course of the year ahead.

We have made fantastic progress both on and off-the-field during the past 12 months and there is no reason why this can't carry on in the same vein in 2008. There is plenty for us to look forward to, including the completion of our very own training ground, which I feel is a particularly exciting development for the club.

I would like to wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year.
