NORTHAMPTON TOWN (FA CUP SECOND ROUND REPLAY) TEAM TALK
I THOUGHT that we did everything but score at Crewe on Saturday. We moved the ball around tremendously well throughout the game and also put in a solid display defensively.
The lads were terrific and the fact that we were disappointed not to have come away with all three points shows how far we have come.
Our last game on home soil was a benchmark for us as we deservedly ran out winners against the best team in League One.
It was a fantastic performance, but we will make sure that we don't get too carried away.
Once more, we defended well throughout the game against a Nottingham Forest team full of quality players and played with plenty of commitment and discipline.
I thought that we dominated the second half and could have added to our lead given to us by Michael Ricketts just after the restart.
Our team is developing all of the time and working their socks off to get us where we are. We want to establish ourselves at this level. We have always had a talented group of young players and now they are showing us what they can do and responding to the challenge put before them.
The lads are a pleasure to work with and I can't praise them highly enough.
Tonight we will be hoping to make FA Cup progress at the expense of Northampton Town.
I thought that we fully deserved to get the opportunity to bring them back here ten days ago and having played them twice in just over a fortnight, we know that it's going to be another tough game for us.
A home third round tie against Millwall awaits the winners and we will be doing all that we can to get there this evening.
I look forward to receiving your full support and backing from the first whistle to the last.
RICHARD MONEY
