Football historian Leigh Edwards profiles every Walsall player from 60 post-war League seasons.

DUDLEY MILLIGAN: Ex-Northern Ireland International centre-forward who joined Walsall from Bournemouth in October 1948 and his solitary goal in five League games came in the 2-1 win at home to Swansea four months later. He was a welder in Belfast before returning to his native South Africa.

JOHN MILLINGTON: Former Aston Villa reserve left-half who moved to Walsall in July 1951 and made 23 third division (south) appearances for The Saddlers. Joining Kidderminster Harriers in July 1953, he was ever-present in four successive seasons while at Aggborough. He now lives in Bilston in retirement.

PABLO MILLS: Ex-England Youth central defender who joined Walsall on loan from Derby County in February 2006 but was unable to prevent relegation, making 14 League One appearances while at Bescot Stadium. He moved to Rotherham United in August 2006 and experienced relegation again last season. Currently turning out for Crawley Town in the Blue Square Premier.

ALEC MONTGOMERY: Left-back who made 29 third division (south) appearances, joining Birch Coppice Colliery in July 1953, then playing for Tamworth and Baddesley Liberal Club. He worked at Birch Coppice Colliery, then spent 30 years as a storeman at GEC (Coventry) and now lives in Baddesley Ensor.

SAMMY MOORE: Versatile winger who scored ten goals in 64 third division (south) outings while at Fellows Park prior to joining Gillingham in August 1958. He moved to Dover in August 1960, then played for Kent rivals Canterbury City and Chatham Town, residing in Dover until his death in March 1994.

GERRY MORGAN: Welsh goalkeeper who joined Walsall as an amateur in March 1974 and understudied Republic of Ireland International Mick Kearns. He made his solitary third division appearance in The Saddlers' last game of that season, a 0-0 draw with Port Vale at Fellows Park, then played local football.

STAN MORGAN: Welsh inside-left who scored once in ten third division (south) games prior to joining Millwall in December 1948. He moved to Leyton Orient in May 1953 and helped win the third division (south) title in 1955-56, then played for Tunbridge Wells. Later a sales rep for Kenwood, he died in 1971.

FRED MORRIS: Winger who was ever-present three times, netting 43 goals in 210 League games before moving to Mansfield Town in March 1957. Later with Liverpool, Crewe, Gillingham, Chester, Altrincham, Oswestry and Hereford, he was a builder, then ran a garage in Oswestry until his death in November 1997.

GEOFF MORRIS: Outside-left who was Walsall's leading marksman in 1971-72, scoring 35 goals in 177 League outings prior to joining Shrewsbury Town in January 1973. He moved to Port Vale in August 1975, then played for Kidderminster Harriers and has settled in Shrewsbury, since working at the local hospital.

GORDON MORRIS: Former West Brom reserve inside-forward who joined Walsall in July 1949 and made his League debut in the 2-1 defeat at Torquay two months later. He scored twice in six third division (south) games while at Fellows Park, then played for various local non-League clubs, settling in Solihull.

GRAHAM MOSELEY: Ex-England Youth goalkeeper who joined Walsall on loan from Derby County in October 1977, making three League appearances. He moved to Brighton in November 1977, appearing in the top-flight and 1983 FA Cup final. Later playing for Cardiff City, he became a postman in Chepstow.

DEREK MOUNTFIELD: Former England U-21 central defender who achieved much success with Everton and then served Aston Villa. He scored twice in 97 League games for Walsall prior to joining Bromsgrove Rovers in July 1998. He moved to Scarborough in January 1999, then played for Workington and has since worked for the Press Association and as a match summariser.

KENNY MOWER: Long-serving left-back who starred in Walsall's 1979-80 and 1987-88 promotion successes as well as the 1983-84 Milk Cup run, netting eight goals in 415 League games prior to joining Stafford Rangers in July 1991. He then played for Blakenall and worked for Butler's Foundries. Still living locally, he gets along to the Banks's Stadium whenever he can.

ALBERT MULLARD: Versatile inside-forward who scored 12 times in 61 League games before joining Crewe Alexandra in June 1949. He moved via Stoke to Port Vale and was ever-present in their 1953-54 third division (north) title triumph, then played for Northwich Victoria. He died in Bilston in May 1984.

JOE MURPHY: Republic of Ireland International goalkeeper who joined Walsall on loan from West Brom in October 2004, then from Sunderland in October 2005, playing 39 League games overall for The Saddlers. He moved to Scunthorpe United in August 2006 and starred in last season's League One title triumph.

JIMMY MURRAY (1): Former Wolves and England Under-23 forward who joined Walsall from Manchester City in May 1967 and netted 13 goals in 57 League games for The Saddlers before reuniting with Ron Flowers at Telford United in August 1969. He then ran a greengrocer's shop in Tamworth until retirement.

JIMMY MURRAY (2): Inside-right who moved to Walsall from Crystal Palace in January 1958 and scored twice in 14 League outings while at Fellows Park prior to joining Hastings United in July 1959. He later played for their Southern League rivals Dover, settling back in Southwark until his death in May 2002.

RUSSELL MUSKER: Midfielder who played for Bristol City, Gillingham and Torquay prior to joining Walsall in August 1991. He played three League games before moving to Gloucester City in December 1991, then played for Weymouth and became Taunton's boss, plotting their 2001 FA Vase Final triumph.

BILLY MYERSCOUGH: Inside-forward who netted six goals in 26 League outings for Walsall before being swapped for Aston Villa's Dave Walsh in July 1955. He was an FA Cup winner in 1957, then played for Rotherham, Coventry, Chester, Wrexham and Macclesfield. He died in Manchester in March 1977.

WILLIE NAUGHTON: Scottish winger who moved to Shrewsbury Town in August 1989. He rejoined Walsall in January 1991 and netted 17 goals in 167 League games overall for The Saddlers before joining Bamber Bridge in July 1991. Now living in Nuneaton, he has successfully battled with testicular cancer.

ALBERT NEWMAN: Popular left-half who played for Walsall in the 1946 Third Division (South) Cup Final and was ever-present in 1946-47, scoring twice in 135 League games prior to becoming coach in July 1950. 'Nutty' later worked in the building trade and resided in Brownhills until his death in December 1981.

GRAHAM NEWTON: Midfielder who scored ten goals in 30 League outings before moving to Coventry City in January 1964, then played for Bournemouth, Atlanta Chiefs, Port Vale, Reading, Hednesford, Worcester and Stourbridge. Later managing Willenhall and Stourbridge, he now runs soccer schools.

HENRY NEWTON: Former England Under-23 defender who starred for Nottingham Forest, Everton and Derby County before reuniting with Dave Mackay at Walsall in July 1977. He made 16 third division appearances for The Saddlers prior to retiring in May 1978, then ran a sub post office back in Derby.

ALEX NICHOLLS: Young striker who was a prolific scorer in the youth and reserve teams, then nearly scored with his first kick on his senior debut in Walsall's 2-0 FA Cup second round victory at home to Yeovil in December 2005. He made eight League appearances before being sidelined with a broken leg. Now back to full fitness and part of Richard Money's squad.

RON NICHOLLS: Former West Brom reserve wing-half who joined Walsall in August 1953 and made his League debut in the following month's 2-0 defeat at QPR. His only other League appearance was in The Saddlers' 3-0 reverse at Swindon and he moved to Bloxwich Strollers in July 1954, settling in Cannock.

CHARLIE NTAMARK: Cameroon International midfielder who starred as Walsall qualified for the third division play-offs in 1992-93 and won promotion in 1994-95, netting 12 goals in 276 League outings for The Saddlers prior to joining Hednesford Town in July 1997. He later played for Bromsgrove Rovers and now lives and works in London.

STEFAN OAKES: Midfielder who featured in Leicester City's 2000 League Cup Final triumph and joined Walsall in July 2003. Making five League appearances before joining Notts County in February 2004, he moved to Wycombe Wanderers in July 2005 and helped them reach the League Cup semi-finals.

TONY OBI: England Youth winger who joined Walsall on loan from Aston Villa in December 1984 and made two League appearances for The Saddlers. He moved to Bristol Rovers in August 1985, then had spells with Oxford United and Brentford. Now living in Holland, he occasionally visits his son in Oxford.
