CARETAKER manager Jimmy Mullen gave an honest assessment of Saturday's 2-0 defeat at the hands of Huddersfield Town.

Goals from Jon Schofield and Andy Booth either side of half-time meant The Saddlers finished their away fixtures with a defeat and Mullen admitted his side were made to pay for their defensive mistakes at the Galpharm Stadium.

"For 40 minutes it was anybody's game," he said. "But mistakes costs you goals. We have made two and punishment does not come more severe than two goals against.

"I said to the lads at half-time they had done great. They stuck to the game plan and if they went out there with the same positive attitude we would be okay.

"But again the mistake come along and the guy has punished us. Andy Booth has been doing that for many years. He might not have the legs any more but he can certainly head the ball.

"So there have been a couple of mistakes that one or two players might learn from."
