THE JAN Molby Sporting Dinner, which took place here at the Banks's Stadium on Thursday evening, raised some much-needed funds for the Walsall FC Youth Development Programme.

Over 200 people were present in the Stadium Suite as the former Liverpool and Denmark midfield maestro recalled tales of his days at Ajax with the legendary Johan Cruyff and in the famous Anfield boot room where he went on to become the first foreign player in the English game to be awarded a testimonial.

"It was an enjoyable evening," said Saddlers' Commercial Director, Roy Whalley. "Jan Molby had some very interesting stories to tell about his playing days and comedian, Mick Walker provided plenty of laughs.

"We were able to raise vital funds for our Youth Development Programme via the various games and auctions that took place during the evening as we look to continue to produce the playing talent of tomorrow."
