IT'S the highlight of Darren Wrack's Testimonial Year on Tuesday evening when The Saddlers take on near-neighbours, Wolves here at the Banks's Stadium (kick-off 7.45pm).

Mick McCarthy has promised to bring a strong side for the game in honour of the popular midfield man who arrived at the club shortly after the appointment of Ray Graydon in the summer of 1998. "Testimonials are few and far between these days with players tending to switch clubs at more regular intervals," said Saddlers' Chief Executive, Roy Whalley. "It is right, therefore, that clubs should be able to reward loyalty in this way.

"I know that Darren is very grateful to Mick McCarthy for supporting him in this week, which is a crucial time in Wolves' promotion campaign.

"Darren fully deserves a good turn-out for this game. He has played for the club during the most successful period in our history where four of his ten years have been spent at what is now Championship level and we have enjoyed three promotion campaigns in that time.

"He has made a huge contribution to our success during these times, scoring some vital goals in the process. We should also remember that Darren displayed tremendous courage in coming back from a badly broken leg.

"Once again this season, he has produced some great displays and I feel that it will be a good game, played in a friendly atmosphere as you thank Darren for the happy memories he has given us."

Admission will be £10 (adults) and £5 (concessions) for all areas. Tickets can be purchased in advance or you can pay on the night.
