THE SADDLERS make our long-awaited Masters debut this summer where we will lock horns with local rivals, Wolves, West Bromwich Albion, Aston Villa, Birmingham City and Coventry City in the Midlands Masters.

The action will take place at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham on Saturday, July 12th, where doors open at 6pm for a 7.30pm kick-off.

Walsall FC Veterans' Team Co-ordinator, Andrew Poole has selected a nine-man squad for the tournament that includes 1,857 senior appearances for The Saddlers between them. "We have selected players who displayed outstanding commitment and were popular figures during their time at the club," said Poole. "All of them are still active in the game and as a result will have the level of fitness and energy that the Masters Tournament demands.

"The players are relishing the challenge and can't wait to get out there and give their all for Walsall FC. As a club we have been keen to get involved with the Masters for some time and now we can't wait for this opportunity to take on our local rivals.

"We hope that there will be a large contingent of Saddlers' supporters who come along to give us good backing and make it a memorable first tournament for us."
