THE SADDLERS have today made a pre-deadline swoop to secure the services of Aaron Brown from Premier League outfit, Reading, subject to clearance from the Premier League.

The 24 year-old central defender first came to the attention of bigger clubs with his assured performances for Tamworth, which earned him England caps at semi-professional level.

The Royals eventually won the race to secure his services in November 2005 and, later that season, Brown was loaned out to AFC Bournemouth.

A broken ankle ruled him out of action last season but now, with the injury behind him, he will give Saddlers' boss, Richard Money added options between now and the end of the season.

"Aaron will give us the defensive options that we have needed for a while," he explained. "I'm looking forward to working with him in the coming weeks."

He goes straight into the squad for our weekend clash with Southend United, who include Hal Robson-Kanu in their line-up. Robson-Kanu arrived at Roots Hall on loan from Reading in February and has scored three goals in the last four games.
