RESERVES CHALK UP WORTHY WIN
THE SADDLERS' second-string chalked up a convincing 3-0 victory over Stoke City at The Lamb.
It took Stefan Moore just seven minutes to open the scoring when he fired in at the far post after a corner caused problems for the visitors' rear-guard.
Moore then notched his second of the evening to double our advantage as he cut inside from the left before tucking the ball home beyond the despairing dive of St. Louis-Hamilton.
The third goal came courtesy of a screaming effort from distance by Charlton Davies as he received a pass from David McDermott.
It could have been four late on when Davies saw another long-range effort cannon off the crossbar.
"It was an entertaining game," said Eric McManus. "We were well in control during the opening period, but Stoke came into it a bit more after the restart.
"In the end we ran out worthy winners."
Ishmel Demontagnac picked up a knock and had to be replaced by Harry Harris.
WALSALL: Gilmartin, Taundry, Bacchus, N'Dour, Smith, T. Schwarz, C. Davies, Demontagnac (Harris), Moore, McDermott, Sansara. Subs not used: R. Davies, Craddock, Westlake, Skeldon.
Meanwhile, the Aston Villa reserve clash with Arsenal, which was scheduled to take place here at the Banks's Stadium on Wednesday, April 2nd, has now been moved to Villa Park.
