ROYAL MARINES COMMANDO DISPLAY TEAM HERE TODAY
THE ROYAL Marines Commando Display Team will be here at the Banks's Stadium today as The Saddlers entertain Crewe Alexandra (kick-off 3.00pm).
The RMCDT are trained specialists in unarmed combat, helicopter and building abseils, high aerial slides and qualified supervisors of our hi-tech rock climbing simulators.
They will abseil off the Floors-2-Go Stand during the half-time interval.
Based at RNAS Yeovilton, the RMCDT travel the length of the British Isles to county fairs and festivals, motor and air shows, charity and sporting events.
"This will be the first time anyone has attempted to abseil off the Floors-2-Go Stand and I'm sure it will capture the crowds imagination," explained Chief Executive, Roy Whalley. "We're delighted to welcome the RMCDT to the Banks's Stadium and I'm sure everyone will be impressed by what they see."
The Royal Marine Commandos are the Royal Navy's elite amphibious fighting force, on permanent readiness to deploy across the globe, and are a core component of the UK's joint reaction force.
