THE SADDLERS kicked off the month of February with a difficult-looking trip to fellow promotion hopefuls, Carlisle United.

In decidedly-chilly conditions, Lee Holmes opened the scoring for Richard Money's men only for a rather harsh penalty given against Paul Boertien to take the wind out of our sails just after the half-hour mark.

As the game looked to be heading for a draw, our hosts edged in front with just 15 minutes left on the clock and despite a gallant effort to get back on level terms, we made the long journey home pointless.

We responded in the perfect way as we played host to Yeovil Town in the next game.

The Glovers defended resolutely in the first half, but we made our dominance tell after the restart with loan stars Lee Holmes and then Kevin Betsy beating stand-in 'keeper, Craig Alcock.

We were back on the road for a midweek trip to runaway League leaders, Swansea City.

In a keenly-fought contest between two good footballing teams, it took a long-range effort from Ferrie Bodde to divide the two teams.

The month ended with another away day as we headed for a Swindon Town outfit with play-off aspirations of their own.

In a totally convincing display, The Robins had no answer to The Saddlers as we tore them apart from the first whistle to the last.

Former Swindon loanee, Lee Holmes was star of the show with two goals, whilst Alex Nicholls made it 3-0 late on.
