OCTOBER 2007
THE MONTH of October started with a superb 3-2 victory at Doncaster Rovers.
Trailing 2-1 at the break, Richard Money's men put in an inspired second half display to turn the game around and earn another three points from our first-ever visit to the Keepmoat Stadium.
Daniel Fox, Mark Bradley and a penalty from Tommy Mooney were on target for The Saddlers.
With confidence high, we played host to Huddersfield Town looking to record our first home win of the season.
Another impressive all-round performance yielded a convincing 4-0 victory with Anthony Gerrard, Tommy Mooney, Mark Bradley and Edrissa Sonko all getting their names on the scoresheet.
We then travelled to League leaders, Tranmere Rovers in a rich vein of form and came home with a clean sheet and a point in a goalless draw as we frustrated our hosts for long periods.
Southend United put an end to our four-game unbeaten run as they went home with a 2-0 victory.
The Essex side proved to be well-organised opposition and try as we might, our young side failed to break them down.
The month ended with a trip to the south coast to take on an AFC Bournemouth side who found themselves at the bottom of the League One table and without a home League win.
After a rather disappointing first half showing, our travelling support really got behind the team to inspire us to a late equaliser through Darren Wrack as we came home with a share of the spoils.
