THE SADDLERS came home from AFC Bournemouth with a share of the spoils thanks to Darren Wrack's late equaliser.

With a swirling wind, Richard Money's men took a while to get into their stridein the opening exchanges.

After Anthony Gerrard did well to block from Lee Bradbury, the home side took the lead in the 19th minute when the experienced Paul Telfer put in an inviting ball from the right which wasn't properly cleared and Jo Kuffour was able to fire past Clayton Ince with a low strike.

With 26 minutes on the clock, Bradbury headed the ball back into the danger zone where Ince had to be alert to gather ahead of Kuffour.

Then on the half-hour mark, a free-kick from Darren Anderton was fired straight at the grateful Ince following a foul by Daniel Fox.

The first real attempt at goal from The Saddlers came shortly afterwards when Tommy Mooney put a dangerous low ball into the box which found its way to Edrissa Sonko who failed to connect properly with his shot and it deflected away from goal.

Then a Fox corner found the head of Gerrard, up from the back, but he powered his header over.

With half-time fast approaching, former Saddlers' loanee, Bradbury hit a snap-shot that was saved by Ince as the home side counter-attacked before a half-volley from Mooney right on the whistle was dealt with by Neil Moss in The Cherries' goal.

The second period began with Fox floating a free-kick onto the head of Gerrard who was denied by Moss as at tthe other end, the busy Adam Lallana but a low ball into the danger zone where Bradbury should have done better as he was denied by some desperate defending at the far post.

There was a change on 54 minutes as Paul Hall replaced Sonko with the travelling Walsall faithful in good voice in a bid to help raise their teams spirits and build our momentum.

With Troy Deeney on in place of Michael Dobson and David McDermott replacing Ishmel Demontagnac, we eventually found ourselves back on level terms with just nine minutes to go when McDermott linked up with Deeney on the left and he in turn set up Fox whose shot towards goal was swept home by Wrack from close range to give Moss no chance whatsoever.

It was just reward for the excellent support that Richard Money's men had recieved during the second period and with our tails up we looked to finish strongly.

However, despite looking the most likely side to grab another goal, it was The Cherries who could have stolen maximum points late on as firstly Lallana's cross-cum-shot required Ince to push over before Fox tried to head back to Ince only for Bradbury to nip in and almost turn the ball home. Thankfully The Saddlers got men back as Ince bravely gathered.

In the final minute Mark Bradley's through-ball was picked up by Deeney who tried to lob the advancing 'keeper only for the effort to land narrowly wide of the target.

The very last action of the game saw Bradbury's header from close range superbly held on the line by Ince as honours ended even on the south coast.
